Blitz was supposed to be the stand-in and
ended up being the main dog doing all the stunt work
Gangster did most of the close up work
In the movie poster it is Gangster
Blitz is pictured on the DVD and Video

It looks like Blitz was used again in the 2nd movie Gangster and Grunt were backups
Gangster was a rescue in CA.

Blitz is out of Ice & Buttercup both very prey driven dogs and Blitz grew up around cattle, goats and hogs while at our place, then Blitz lived at Blue Water's Ranch from about 5 months until he was 2 where he was exposed to horses and other animals
When he was x-rayed the vet described him as dysplastic, so he was neutered and placed with Mike and Dea as a stand in for Gangster. It became apparent that Blitz was far more talented then we knew and he became the lead dog. Blitz still enjoys good health and shows no sign of any problems. This is why x-raying is so important to the breed. It does not mean a dog is not a great dog, and in many cases still live a normal healthy life,. They just should not be used as a breeding prospect.
